On the Translation of Mechanical Product Manual

Abstract

With the great development of science and technology and China’s entrance into WTO, interaction between China and the world has been increasing. The translation of pragmatic texts related with science and technology is highly required. Translation is a kind of purposeful, interactive, interpersonal, and intercultural action. So an excellent translation of mechanical text can not only facilitate China’s export of advanced science and technology products but also promote importing mechanical products from the rest of the world. On the contrary, a poor translation can obstruct communication of mechanical product information. What is the mechanical product translation and how to translate it?  This thesis tends to illustrate the main theories and some examples to answer the questions. This thesis analyzes the differences between source language and target language and tends to prove that the translation of mechanical product manual is a practical translation and then list some translation skills.

摘  要

隨著科技的飛速發(fā)展和中國加入世貿組織，中外間的相互影響進1步增加。人們急需與科技有關的使用性文本的翻譯。翻譯是1項有目的的、相互作用的、人際之間的和跨文化交際的活動。所以1篇出色的機械產品的文本翻譯不僅有利于促進中國尖端科技產品的出口，同時也有利于從世界其它地區(qū)進口機械產品。相反，1篇失敗的翻譯會妨礙機械產品信息的交流。什么是機械產品翻譯和怎樣翻譯？本論文通過列舉重要理論和1些例子來回答上述問題。本論文分析源語言和目標語言的不同之處來說明機械產品手冊的翻譯是1種實用性很強的特殊翻譯然后列舉1些翻譯技巧。
